Your profile can change as your needs, services, or experience change. ProHelp lets you update the public details people use to recognize and assess you, including your name, handle, avatar, cover image, bio, and service categories. The edit screen also includes an email field. You do not need to delete your account or create another profile to make ordinary corrections.
Open the profile editor
Go to your own profile and choose the edit-profile action. Existing information is loaded into the form. Review each field before saving, particularly if you only intended to replace one photo. A slow connection can delay category or image loading, so wait for the current profile to appear rather than overwriting it with blanks.
The name and handle each need at least three characters. Handles accept letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. Spaces and unsupported symbols are removed. Because a handle identifies a public profile, a new choice must not conflict with an existing account.
Keep public fields free of verification codes, passwords, payment details, identity numbers, private addresses, and customer information.
Update text and categories
Use a current, recognizable name. Rewrite the bio when your service area, availability, or specialties change. A concise description of real skills is more credible than a long list of search terms. If you work professionally, mention useful experience and practical scope without claiming licences or guarantees you cannot demonstrate.
Select categories for services you genuinely provide. Removing a category can make the profile more focused; adding unrelated categories may lead to poor matches. Customers who mainly hire can keep their profile simple while still providing enough information for professionals to recognize them in chat.
Review the email field for accuracy. Authentication itself uses your verified phone flow, so do not assume changing an email changes the phone number used to sign in.
Replace profile photos
Tap the avatar or cover-image control and choose the camera or photo library. The app requests camera access before taking a new picture. Avatar selection supports square cropping, while the cover image uses a wide crop. Confirm the preview before saving.
Use photos you own or have permission to publish. Remove visible customer addresses, documents, vehicle plates, keys, children, and bystanders where appropriate. A professional portfolio can be managed separately on the profile: add images from camera or gallery, and use edit-gallery mode to remove items. Public gallery images are subject to suitability checks and may not appear immediately.
Save your changes
- Open your profile editor.
- Change the necessary text, categories, avatar, or cover image.
- Confirm the name and handle still meet the minimum length.
- Recheck spelling and remove sensitive information.
- Tap save and keep ProHelp open while selected images upload.
- Return to your profile and verify the public result.
Do not tap save repeatedly while an upload is in progress. Image upload and profile update are network operations and may take longer on mobile data. If the result is not immediately visible elsewhere, refresh or reopen the profile before making the same edit again.
Editing for a stronger profile
Make changes that help another person decide what to do next. Customers benefit from a recognizable identity and clear communication. Professionals benefit from a specific bio, relevant categories, a good avatar, and a small portfolio of representative work. Keep old work only when it still reflects the services and quality you offer.
Profile claims are supplied by users. Phone verification does not independently validate names, qualifications, images, or experience. Continue using reviews, chat, written scope, and sensible safety checks when hiring.
If an edit will not save
Check for validation around the name or handle. Try a different handle if the chosen one is unavailable. For a photo problem, confirm ProHelp has camera or library permission in the phone's settings and retry on a stable network. If categories are missing, wait for them to load before saving.
Close and reopen the editor after an unexplained error, then confirm whether any part of the update already succeeded. If trouble continues, contact support with the field name, approximate time, app version, and a redacted screenshot. Never send an SMS verification code as proof of account ownership.
