Set up your profile

Your ProHelp profile introduces you before a conversation begins. Customers use it to understand who has applied to a job, and professionals use it to recognize the person asking for help. A complete, accurate profile reduces uncertainty without requiring you to publish private information.

New users create the basic profile immediately after phone verification. The app requires a name and public handle with at least three characters each. Everything else can be added when useful, including an avatar, cover photo, short bio, service categories, and portfolio images.

Choose a name and handle

Use the name you want other ProHelp users to see. A professional may choose a personal name or a clear business name. Avoid vague labels such as “User” because they make applications and chats harder to distinguish.

Your handle is the public identifier associated with the profile. It accepts letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores; unsupported characters and spaces are removed as you type. It must be at least three characters and needs to be available. A simple version of your name or trade is easier to share than a string of unrelated characters.

Never place passwords, verification codes, payment card numbers, identity-document numbers, or home access codes in public profile fields.

Add useful profile details

An avatar helps people recognize you in job applications and chats. Choose a well-lit image where the subject is clear even as a small circle. The editor can crop an avatar to a square. A cover image is wider and can show your work, team, vehicle, or another relevant scene without displaying confidential customer information.

Write a short bio that answers the most important question: who are you and how do you use ProHelp? Customers can briefly explain the kinds of help they usually need. Professionals should state their main services, experience, working area, and any practical strengths they can honestly support.

Select service categories only for work you genuinely offer. Categories help your skills appear coherently on the profile and support discovery. More categories are not automatically better; a focused list is often clearer.

Professionals can also add portfolio photos from the profile. Use original images you have permission to publish. Gallery images are checked for suitability, so an upload may not appear publicly immediately and inappropriate material can be rejected.

Save the first profile

  1. Complete phone verification and wait for the profile form.
  2. Enter a name of at least three characters.
  3. Create an available handle of at least three characters.
  4. Add an optional email, bio, avatar, cover image, and relevant categories.
  5. Review how the text reads and remove any private details.
  6. Tap the save action and wait for the upload and update to finish.

During onboarding, the profile screen is required. Attempting to close it leads to a sign-out confirmation instead of opening the rest of the app with a blank profile. After a successful save, ProHelp returns you to the app.

Build trust without oversharing

Accuracy matters more than promotional language. Do not claim certifications, reviews, insurance, or experience you do not have. If a photo includes another person, a customer's address, a license plate, paperwork, or a private interior, obtain permission or crop it out before uploading.

Phone verification is part of account access, but it does not mean ProHelp has verified every profile claim. Customers should still compare applications, reviews, completed work, and chat details. Professionals should likewise clarify the customer, location, scope, and payment arrangement before accepting work.

Fix profile setup problems

If save is unavailable or validation appears, check the name and handle lengths first. Handles cannot contain spaces or most punctuation, and a handle already used by someone else must be changed. If categories have not loaded, check the internet connection and try again.

Photo uploads need access to the camera or photo library and a stable connection. If permission was denied, open the phone's system settings for ProHelp and enable the relevant access, then return to the editor. Large uploads may take longer; keep the app open until saving completes.

If you saved incorrect details, open your own profile and use its edit action. You do not need a new account just to replace a photo, rewrite the bio, or change categories. If an error persists after reopening the app, contact support with the affected field and visible message, leaving out private authentication data.
